Oops?

Well, I called Dave tonight and told him I was backing out of the cabinet installation contract. Eesh. I had a knot in my stomach, but after two missed meetings (I flaked, then he did), I was having a bad feeling about spending so much money on something I (that's a big fat we) could do "myself" (ourselves). I don't know what the heck I'm doing, but I intend to figure it out in the next few days. Dave wished me luck ("good luck with that"), but I'm not sure if it's my guilt or if it was truly sarcasm that left me feeling so bad. Anyway, onward. Live to shop another day.

Wish me luck!

Sounds like what the guys said when we left the car rental place without their extra insurance. We did fine. Looks great, like it was made for that countertop. Is that a light I see at the end of the tunnel? Very exciting. B

Thanks!

Yeah, the color is great. Now that I have it up on the walls, I love it. It's just green enough.

There's light at the end of the tunnel, but it looks like I maybe stationary for a couple of weeks. Maybe...

[That deleted comment is mine - had to fix a typo.]

I think cabinets are straight-forward as long as you're careful and organized about it. The main problem-solving relates to unlevel floors and unsquare corners, but we have information on how to deal with those. Installing the cabinets involves detail and sequence complexity, not dynamic - thank god.

[..after my own heart. I've permanently removed the errant post.]

I'm nervous about using "straignt" boards that aren't straight enough. Phinnney Neighborhood Center's Tool Lending Library has a lot of stuff, but not a few of the items I need. Still, I think I'll call them and see if their list is up to date.
